P.I.E. Studio — 360° photo & video editor

Brand your 360° tours the way they deserve: your logo under the camera instead of a tripod, north pointing where it actually is, and nothing left in the frame you did not want shipped.

Windows will warn you the first time — that is expected

P.I.E. Studio is not yet signed with a code-signing certificate, so Windows shows a blue “Windows protected your PC” box the first time you run the installer. Windows says that about every new program from a small publisher; it is not a judgement about this one.

If you would rather not, that is a fair call — email me and I will walk you through exactly what it installs and where.

What it does

Two studios, one sphere

Photos and video work the same way and export the same way. Whatever you see in the 360° preview is what lands in the file.

Nadir & zenith branding

Drop a PNG logo under the camera to cover the tripod, or above it on the sky. Opacity, size and rotation — previewed as a viewer will actually see it, not as a smear on a flat strip.

A real 360° preview

Drag to look around inside the sphere before you commit. Buttons snap you straight to the ground, the sky or true north, so a logo that came out mirrored is obvious in a second rather than after the upload.

North alignment

Set which compass heading the middle of the frame faces, with a dotted north line and safe-area guides to keep overlays where every viewer will see them.

Viewing limits

Lock how far a viewer can turn or look down. The excluded part is not merely hidden — it is cropped out of the file, so a handheld shot can never show whoever was holding the stick.

360° video in H.265

Opens 8K H.265 clips, scrubs a timeline, and exports a short range or the whole thing on your GPU. Keeps the original sound, or lays an MP3 underneath with fades.

Metadata that survives

Writes proper GPano and Spherical Video V2 tags, so YouTube, Facebook, Kuula and VR headsets open the result as a sphere without being told to.

Before you download

The details

Price
Free. No licence key, no trial period, and no watermark on anything you export.
Registration
It asks for your name and email once, on first run, so I know who is using it and on how many machines. Nothing is verified, and nothing is sold or shared.
Requirements
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. An NVIDIA, Intel or AMD GPU turns an 8K video export from hours into minutes; without one it still works, just slowly.
Files it opens
Equirectangular JPEG and PNG panoramas, and MP4 video including H.265. Unstitched Insta360 .insv / .insp and DJI .osv files need exporting from their own software first.
Where it installs
Your own user folder, with no administrator prompt. Uninstalls from Windows Settings like anything else.
Why it exists

Built for my own tours first

I shoot 360° work, and the tools I tried either wanted a subscription just to put a logo over a tripod, or quietly stripped the metadata that makes a file open as a sphere at all. So I wrote one that does the job and gets out of the way.

It is free because it was going to exist regardless. If it saves you an afternoon, a coffee keeps it going.
